This project is a residential basement acid-stained concrete floor in Barrington, Illinois.  As with most basements, there are no control joints, but the resulting cracks usually add character to the staining results, and did in this instance.

We used two colors:  a base coat of Sherwin Williams H&C Midas Gold, and an accent coat of Brickform e-Stain Sunset.

For the wet-look, gloss finish, we applied two coats of a water-based clear epoxy sealer, followed by several coats of a clear acrylic floor finish.  This system involves no odor and a very short dry time.
