Acid Staining Of Finished Basement Concrete Floor After Saw-Cutting Large, Spanish Tile Design Pattern
Rinsed and Neutralized, Acid-Stained, Finished Basement Concrete Floor With Saw-Cut Tile Design

This is an acid-stained basement floor cut into 3.5-foot-square tiles.  The color is Scofield Chemtain's Dark Walnut.  The first photo above left is the initial appearance of the floor after staining the concrete.  The second photo (above right) shows the actual coloring of the floor once the excess stain residue was rinsed from the surface.

After allowing the concrete to dry for 24 hours, we applied a water-based, clear acrylic concrete sealer as a primer coat to lock in a "light" amount of color enhancement.  We followed this with a water-based, clear epoxy concrete sealer as a finish coat, for added gloss.
