Sterling Residence
This is a basement concrete floor in a home in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The floor had a lot of chemical spills on it during the construction process. We knew these spills would still show up after the staining process (notice above left), but the good thing about acid staining is that marks like these usually add character to the overall look of the floor.
Above left, you can see the floor after the cleaning process. Above right show the floor after staining and sealing. There is always a dramatic transformation after acid staining a floor, as you can see by the above two photos. The color used was Ebony, from Brickform.
These two photos (above) show before staining and after staining and sealing, also. Above right you can see some of the marks left by the chemical spills, also, but notice how they do not impair the overall appearance of the floor.
These last two photos show the floor after staining and after staining and sealing. Notice how much the sealer darkens the stain, and leaves the floor with a high luster (depth to the stain) and gloss.
